Dan Golding Racing (DGR) is a privately owned racing team based locally in WA.
Previously a part of QVEE motorsport, the team enters their eleventh season (2023/2024) as DGR. Following the success of their previous season and the departure of one of their main drivers, the team has requested a bold rebranding of their motorsport team.
The project is the creation of the Dan Golding Racing brand and the development of it's logo, uniform and merchandise. Scope ventures further to collaboration, where I work along with other designers that specialise in racing gear, such as vehicle and helmet wraps. Ensuring the brand criteria are met.
Ever since the rebrand, DGR has won prestigious awards including a podium finish in the 2023 West Australian Speed Car Championship.

Design Approach
The customer wants the logo to have features that are comparable to those of the parent company.
The logo's persona must be bold and daring yet retain its sense of minimalism. I tackle this by personalising
the logo of their current parent company and designing a new typeface for the logo breakdown.

By experimenting with the tilt and aligned cut, the logo is completed and meets the client's desired look.

Minimalistic Font
The Stainless typeface is a minimalistic type derived from Cyrus Highsmith's slab serif.

Vibrant & Bold
The DGR logo, along with its colours, pattern, and race number, should be used in the following ways:.
The logo and its breakdown are inseparable; neither component should be used independently of the other.

Wraps & Merchandise
The following pictures are both mockups and actual pictures of the completed Dan Golding Racing merchandise, wrapping, and uniform. These were created in conjunction with a number of other designers, each of whom had a unique area of expertise.
