Turning heads with their shreds.
Vanta is a metal band founded in Perth. The like-minded members debuted in 2023 and came to me requesting a minimalistic logo. Think of the likes of sound and look of Judas Priest, Demon Hunter and Trivium. The Vanta look was completed with the addition of a mascot as the personal band trophy.
I completed this project as part of my 2022 freelance work. Where I am fully responsible for the development, brainstorming and final logo.

Even though Vanta changed their logo in 2025, Their legacy and metal sound are still heard today thanks to their original design.
Logo Reference
The band's reference is inspired by some of the well-known metal bands that have a simple logo. One of the important aspects that the client requested is to implement a Slavic font tone to the logo. Taking note and incorporating a modern font with elements of the Slavic symbols.
The mascot was a little bit interesting to tackle. The client wants something different, reflecting example of deities, which are an expansion of each element and letter in the wordmark. I experimented with the concept of mashing some pictures of unusual creatures, particularly insects. One of the resulting mashed images is of a bullhead and locust, which the client loved. I then developed the mascot logo based on this idea.

I provided the band with multiple sketches of logo options based on their logo references; each features a distinctive addition that differs from each other. The band had opted to go for the more minimalistic approach, incorporating this into the Slavic geometry custom font. This is further accompanied with tribal elements, which represent their bold yet progressive sound.
